the wedding was gorgeous!
I'll put pics on tomorrow, but it went off without a hitch!!! The little church was beautiful with its old decor and awesome stained glass windows!! Anna Marie looked great and Alan, too!!
JEB was great! He sat and colored thruout the ceremony and kept a quiet voice and listened to the music and basically, behaved like a 'normal' 8 1/2 yr. old should in a church setting!!! I was soooooo proud of him!
He got to play with some of the other kids at the reception, and since it was held at Anna Marie's parents house in the yard, he didn't have to stay quiet or anything. It was a good learning experience for both JEB and mommy!!!
Off to beddy-bye.....he's very tired! Me too! Jn is on his way home now, but won't get in till late.
That's ok....he had a good time!
Hope everyone has a great time at church tomorrow.....Palm Sunday.

off to a wedding.....
Well, today should prove to be interesting......we are going to a wedding. I tried very hard to find a babysitter for JEB, but with it being the first weekend of spring break.....they all fled to the beach or have a soccer game 5 hrs. away today or they want to go to the wedding too!!! So, I will dress up the munchkin in his Sunday clothes and off to Richland we will go.
I have to make sure that I have markers/coloring book, and something to drink for him in his backpack and we'll see how long he makes it. You see, I sort of had a hand in the making of this wedding.......back in September, Anna Marie (bride) came to our house for dinner on Labor Day wkend. We really had just started becoming friends, since we were both new to our school this year, and she was talking about going to Warner Robbins to visit her aunt but that Alan (groom) had sort of talked to her at lunch that week at school. I convinced her to txt him and see what he was doing and they made lunch plans for the next day, and the rest is history!!!!! So, you see, she would be quite upset with me if I wasn't there to celebrate with them, otherwise, I'd probably stay home. Hopefully, JEB will behave and not have any shout outs or make loud noises so I can enjoy the wedding.
Somewhere along the line, I've got to help him learn how to sit thru quiet stuff.......yeah, right!

SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!
I'm on SPRING BREAK!!!! WOO HOO!!!!
I left school at 11:30 today because Jn wanted to leave for AL by noon. You see, he is going to a soccer tournament for the Pkway girls this weekend and JEB and I are going to a friend's wedding tomorrow.
So, we saw Daddy off on his trip and we headed to Chili's for lunch.....yummy!!! Had chips, salad and potato soup! Then we were off to Wal-mart! OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was soooooo crowded! I hate it there when it's crowded. And every time you turn the corner you run into someone else! It was one of the worst shopping trips I've had in a long time!!!
I'll be posting some pictures of JEB this week as we get all dressed up for EASTER.
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!! I AM!

report card time
Well, it's that time again.....time for 3rd nine weeks report cards. I always wonder what his "grades" will be since he really isn't measured the same way I would measure my students. Well, it three of his subjects, he increased 5 points!!! I was so proud of my little guy!! Then the other subject areas, he stayed the same.
They measure his success based on his IEP for this year and I must say, he's surpassed every single goal!!! I love that he's going above and beyond, maybe that is a precursor to how he'll tackle every thing he does!
Continue praying for Stellan......

please read this other blog....
everyone, please click over to Adrienne's blog and check out what she has to say today about the "r" word........
You don't realize it when you say it, but there are many people, children in the world who are considered mentally retarded and it should offend you that people use this word flippantly to describe something stupid that they have done or said.......just read and think about it the next time that word starts to roll off your tongue.....

A Rainy Monday....for sure.....
What a wet, rainy Monday it's been today....but good, because we so need the rain here in SW Georgia! Sorry, I've been neglecting y'all, but there really hasn't been anything of value to write about. Unfortuneately, I'm not quite as gifted as McMama or Angie or Big Mama, but I do enjoy writing something every once in awhile.
I certainly hope everyone is doing well.......only two more weeks till JEB's spring break and three until ours! Then it's all downhill from there till school's out for the summer!!!!

A milestone for JEB
Wow.....JEB really hit a milestone today......first, I had a conference with his teacher at school and found out that he can do some amazing things!! He has figured out how to work a mouse and follow directions to a program on the computer, he actually will sit with earphones on his ears and listen to something like a story (this is a MAJOR accomplishment, he normally throws things like this across the room) and he can do basic phonics with instructions from the computer program. I AM SO PROUD of my little man!! His teacher gave me this website and when it opened up, he climbed up in the chair and started clicking!! I sat here in amazement, watching him do what was asked of him!! Technology is a wonderful thing!!
You know, there are many days that I wonder what he will be when he grows up.....what will he be able to do for himself, or if he will be able to be self-sufficient........all of those questions that most people don't think about but take for granted that their child will be able to do....of course! BUT when you have a special needs child, you really can't take anything for granted. Everyday is a blessing and a special gift from GOD. Every little thing they are able to accomplish is such a HUGE event!
I'm SO PROUD of him......I love him so much!!!

I know.....I know......
Oh, I'm still here.....really. I just haven't taken the time to actually write on my own blog because I've been too caught up reading other people's blogs. Sad, huh??? I know.....really sad!
I hope everyone had an awesome time praising and worshipping GOD this LORD's day. Service was ok today.....we still really miss our ALABAMA church.......but music was good today!
This will be a weird week for us....JEB is out of school M/T/W with half-days on Thurs/Fri. So, Jn and I have to take turns since there is no formal daycare when school is out. Hopefully, I'll be able to scrap a little bit. That would be great!

ok, ok, ok....
I know.....I've been slovenly and not posted in a week and a half, but, in my defense, I've been busy!
School has been sooooooo busy, in fact, last Friday I had students in my office, taking tests or a quiz every period of the day!!! I was so busy, I went home with an amazingly huge headache!!!
And then by the end of the week, I'm so tired, I don't want to write anything. PLUS....I've been faithfully working out every day at the gym!
Nothing much happening, but I will ask for prayer for kelly, scott and harper. You can check out her blog and http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/ and read updates on baby Harper's progress.
I will write more this weekend....I promise!

well.....
Hey there......
Not sure what to write today, although I've been lazy this week and not blogged. As I've said before here....way back.....we have internet all day at school, communicate with other teachers thru office email. So by the time I'm done with all the little things to do after getting your 8 yr. old little guy home and fed and bathed.....I'm ready to crash in my favorite chair. Being on the internet isn't a top priority. And when I do check in, it's to simply do that....check in on everyone else's blog but I don't have time to write in mine.
So, have any of you out there made any of those New Year's Resolutions???? I really didn't make one, per say, but I'm going to do my utmost to lose 50 lbs. this year. I think that is definitely doable. I joined the gym up the road and so far, I've been maybe about 10 times. Not bad, especially over break. Last week, I went faithfully 4 days and spent about 45 minutes, walking, doing the elliptical and then arm work on the machines, and rounding it out with my 20 min. in the tanning bed.....as my reward, but also to help my psoriasis go away. I'm determined to get in better shape and if that will aide the losing weight process, then yippee for me! I don't mind it.....I go right after school before I get JEB, so it's not inconvenient.
I'm also going to do better at spending time with the LORD. I try to have a devotional when I first get to work, but there always seems to be something that is more pressing. Guess that's Satan working. Gotta work on that.
Well, everyone enjoy their Sunday afternoon nap....I'm off to scrap a little and maybe try a nap myself!

10.....9....8....7......
Ok, so how many of you really stay up and watch the countdown to the New Year??? I remember doing it when I was a teenager and when I was on my own, I think simply because I didn't have a life or anything else to do on New Year's Eve.
Although, I do remember going to church and having a party....playing games and such, then having a service like from 11pm til midnight and praying in the new year. Not a bad way to start off, huh???? I think now they really only do stuff for the youth, but I always did enjoy that prayer service. Then we'd watch movies all the rest of the night and have breakfast at church in the morning. It really was quite fun.
Well, I hope all of you reading have a wonderful New Year's Eve.....or whats left of it and my prayer is that you seek God's will for whatever He has in store for you in this new year.

Well, we're home!
Hey!
We actually got back on Friday and not Saturday as we had planned. Which was nice because it's always nice to be home after being gone for a couple of days.
We had a great time visiting with PaPa and Grandma Sue and Auntie Debra. Christmas was good....JEB got a haul you can't even imagine!! We also got to see my sister/hubby and kids on Christmas Eve, which was quite nice! They live 2 hrs. north of where my father-in-law lives and it was nice that they could drive down for dinner!
I have to say that staying in a hotel on Christmas Eve and waking up there Christmas morning with no tree or anything Christmasy was kind of odd, but ok. But I was glad to get home. We also had a chance to have lunch with all of his vball girls from Pkway, the school we were at for three years, which was a very nice way to end our visit home.
We had our Christmas on Saturday morning and JEB enjoyed opening all of the presents, especially the ones that were NOT his!! He really didn't care WHAT was in the package, he just wanted to rip off the paper!
Also, just wanted to ask those of you who read this to pray for a couple of people for me today.....if you click the link on my sidebar to MckMama's website, you will be able to read about her infant, Stellan, who survived a pre-birth heart condition and came out whole and well, PRAISE GOD, but is now at 8 wks old is fighting RSV and is in very serious condition. Please pray that GOD will heal his little body and that he would get well.
Another prayer request is for our school football coach, ROCK, who is battling two types of blood cancer and will at the end of January, be going for a stem cell transplant in Atlanta. At the moment, he is battling the flu, but his kidneys are not doing well either. Pray for GOD to heal his kidneys so that this transplant will go on as planned. Pray for his family as well. He has three older children, but a teenage son and a pre-teen daughter at our school. This will be a long journey for them.
As for me, I'm going to continue to enjoy my week off and do all the little things around the house that I don't have the time or the energy to do on a regular basis.

only 4 more days...........
Can you even believe that in one week, it's Christmas/????? This has been an interesting season for me....I really don't want anything. Usually, there is one or two of something that I really want, but this year.....nothing really is striking my fancy. I mean, what could you want besides.........
my health, my wonderful husband and son, a house to live in, a car to drive, a good job, to be in decent shape financially, food to eat, and a loving Savior.???? What else could I possibly want in this world?????
Thank you Jesus for coming to earth just to save ME! Thank you Jesus for loving me enough to die in my place on that cross. Thank you Jesus for being in TOTAL control of every aspect of my life. Thank you for letting me be one year older.......even if it is closer to 50 than 40.
